So my garage is bit small but still able to do rinseless wash etc. Problem is I have this small wooden ladder which helps get to top of my car etc. But occasionally i leave it somewhere and just flops over. It hasn't hit the car until today. Luckily was kind of the side skirt barely noticable. (still bothers me though lol). Is there any rubberized step stool or if it flops and hits the car there won't by any dings or marks (other then maybe scuff marks)..

Any ladder, wood, rubber, etc. will mar the paint if allowed to "flop over" onto the car.

My advice? Try and secure that unruly ladder a little better in the future........

Get a 2' Werner.
When it is locked it wont flop down on its own, unless you unlock the legs

Rubbermade also makes a two step. I have one and use it when washing the truck. It’s plastic. It folds up short and has a base that makes it difficult to knock over. Search plastic step stool on Amazon. Spigo appears to make one that looks identical and is a couple dollars less. Hope this helps.

•Sounds as if you are possibly:
1.) Using a worn/damaged ladder
-Ladders are tools.
-Tools wear out, get damaged, etc.
-Replacement is then highly recommended.

2.) Not using the correct procedure(s) for
the placement of the ladder.
-Check for stability:
...ladder’s spreaders, feet, etc.;
...stable/level surface.

Ladders just don't flop over unless they are worn, damaged, placed on uneven ground or knocked over, do yourself a favor and get a quality ladder for your safety.

+1 get a decent mini-platform w/ folding/LOCKABLE legs. Ziptie some cut spongy pipe insulation to the long edges.

This has been a great tool for me. The legs lock when using and unlock and fold up where you can hang it on the wall. Werner aluminum work platform at Lowe's Home Improvement Store.

Same one as I use. Go to the plumbing dept and grab a length of spongey pipe insulation and wire ties. Cut the insulation lengthwise and attach to front/back of the platform.

MX5HIGH: How does that garage door insulation work? Useful?

I also use the Werner aluminum work platform. And it easy to store, I secure it to the side of a shelf with a bungie cord.

I have a Werner work platform and it is good, but if you are looking for a one I would recommend the Gorilla Ladders Slim Fold platform GLA-47WP (-2C). It holds more weight (up to 300 pounds - not that that is an issue for anyone here...), has self-locking legs, and folds flat.

Good idea on the protective cover on the sides of the platform. Yes the insulation does help, especially in cold weather when I’m running my garage heater.

Does it keep the reindeer warm? Lol

Forgive me, but the resemblance undeniable. :)
