I remember reading that Mazda has some of the thinnest , if not the thinnest OEM paint.

I would go the with least aggressive approach first. Standard DA Polisher, Polish with foam Polishing Pads. I like to use the Blackfire One Step. It's extremely easy to work with and has excellent results. A rotary polisher with wool pads just seems too aggressive for a brand new vehicle.

Yep.....I posted a while back that a brand new Mazda came to me and I HIGHLY suggested a dual layer coating because in the future there will be no correction work on it due to the extremely thin paint. I had similar measurements. Sadly that was on the roof too.

What in the world? Why? What does the test spot reveal?

Just a guess that the OP's title suggestion was tongue-in-cheek. He was :joking:

Goes to show what some factory clears are like! And also...the benefit of a PTG!

Exactly! And not so much joking. We all know the people who would do a 3 day hundred hour 4 step correction on this ! With no consideration of the future of the car or consequences for the owner.
