So a fellow Audi Forum Member came to me with a pretty nice daily that he fixed up after stealing it with less than 2k miles on it thanks to a salvage title. The car had a side impact that resulted in a number of airbag deployments, and body damage, but the owner is resourceful and did a bang-up job (pun intended) getting it back to great condition. No paint work was done as the body parts were sourced from salvage as well and already matched.

Looking over this car that now has 36k miles on it and made its way from Beverly Hills, then a few years in Vegas to now in Columbus, we decided to go with my Premium Enhancement Polish Package as he was looking for great results but not chasing perfection. From there he decided upon my offering of GYEON ceramic coating. Lastly he decided to protect some of the trim such as the cowling and rear diffusion with trim coating.

Anyway, the paint was pretty hammered with swirls and has a number of stone chips. Per my suggestion he brought me the Dr. Colorchip kit and I'll be putting it to use in the morning helping it look even better. Overall the car turned out great. Again, not perfect but I'd say there's a solid 80% reduction of imperfections and swirls on the low end and in some areas more than that.

Onto the pics:

As an added bonus since he saw a clean engine on my car, I thought I would treat him a cleaning of his. No before pic as it was a spur of the moment decision to do it but overall it was dusty and muddy in some spots. Think of 2 years worth of Las Vegas dust.

Overall work done was with my Flex 3401 wearing Orange Hybrid Force Pads applying GYEON's Q2 PRIMER, then topped that with two layers of GYEON's Can Coat. Trim was done with GYEON's Q2 Trim.

Absolutely beautiful work! I did a 3 step on my best friends S4 a few months ago, mine was good but yours is stunning!

Great work and write up and pictures as always!

You just polished with the LC Orange Hybrid Force Pad and Gyeon Primer Polish and got that correction and finish from it? Now that's impresive if you didn't do any cutting step before that!

The engine compartment came out awesome too. How was it to use the Tornador Black there?

Yep. Just use some slow arm movement and a little pressure. It does a good job and the Hybrid Force pads cut nicely. Left to right, then right to left overlapping 50%, then repeat going up and down; then done.

LOVED IT! I wish I took some before shots. It cut through all the muck quickly. Is it perfect...no but again, this was a free-service....and a way for me to play with my new Tornador at the the same time. Hit with some APC, let dwell, then blasted from top to bottom. Used a blower at first to dry then switched to the Tornador with air only to finish it off then dressed it. Took 15-20 minutes total. If I was charging I'd hit some of the really nasty areas down lower in the bay with a Speed Brush first but overall, color me happy and impressed again.

Stunning work on that black paint. What a transformation with that single step approach. I imagine was thrilled with the outcome.

Thanks for sharing.
