So a member of a racing club I'm a part of upgraded from a CTS-V to a new house with a two car garage and then had to replace the V and fill the garage with a nice ride. Looking at all the choices out there, it becomes easy to see why he chose the new Genesis G70 and loaded it up with goodies including the Sport Package.

Working back with the owner, the plan was clear. Clear up a small amount of imperfections and dealer swirls. Check/Check....this car is 100% corrected and simply stunning. Next was the move to apply 2 layers of CarPro Cquartz UK 3.0 and a 3rd top layer of their super hydrophobic Gliss v2 product.

I'm just going to leave these images here as they speak to how well this thing turned out. The interior is just as sharp and overall, the car is on par with the best Germany has to offer and in some ways it's far better.

Thanks again to Draco for allowing me the opportunity to work on this beauty and damn you for enticing my desire to get one myself! http://www.columbusracing.com/ubb/smile.gif

The above was polished with a Rupes Mille and White Mille Pads working CarPro Essence and the magic it brings to amp up it's gloss. As noted it's wearing 3 layers of Cquartz Products.

Looks great. Did you coat the wheels or nah? What product did you use on the tires?

You seem to have all the luck and get black vehicles come your way. What kind of microfibers do you use for polish removal/coating wipedown?

We were just talking about these cars in the other thread and BAM!, look what happened! You brought out the very best in that car because we all know they don't look like THAT from new! No offense to your current car but it's not even close....GO GET ONE!

I didn't coat the wheels yet as he is putting together a set of winter wheels and tires and will bring me these once he mounts the winter set up so I can do a proper prep and coating of them. I love doing black vehicles. Nothing more rewarding and yes, my customer base which is all referrals tend to recommend me for black. Coating wise, I use the orange CarPro Microfiber/Suede towels (https://www.autogeek.net/suede-microfiber-cloths-40.html). They have no chance of leaving lint given their make up and are easy to launder. The only time I use a regular Microfiber 180gsm-ish style is with GYEON's Can Coat. They just seem to work better at removing it. I think it's because it flashes so darn quick.

This is a great looking ride. However, like noted in the other thread, they don't lease well and while this customer purchased his, buying a car of this price isn't a good financial move in any way. Red Sport wise, mine's way faster and still has more room to go (Mine went 12.2 @116mph with just a piggy back) and mid 11's is just a flash tune and downpipes away.....but I'm leasing it and the payment on it is $250mo + lower than a G70 or an S4 would lease out for thus why I got it. No, it's not my favorite car but it's loaded with cool tech, looks great, goes fast, handles great and is cheap on the pocket book. I really couldn't say no to it and justify the S4 or AMG which are the two other cars I was looking at. Lastly, the G70 wasn't out when I got mine.

I do appreciate the looks and styling here though. The designers did a 100% spot-on job inside too. Overall, the G70 is much nicer in person and that really shows through on the interior.

Looking at it from the rear...its got hips, not like a 911 but it has them. The side of the car is so chiseled and the front, with its black chrome, just looks incredible! Then there's the interior, OMG those seats!!

Quality work as usual!! Big fan of the G70 here too, still don't see many on the road so it has a presence when you run across one, and I agree, pics don't quite do it justice. I especially like it in the Siberian Ice color. Rear legroom was a bit of issue for me, ultimately the most glaring issue was Hyundai/Kia leasing they need to get their lease pricing sorted....Recently was on the market to replace wifeys 2014 Highlander Limited, she really liked the looks/features of the Hyundai Palisade .....same issue there, the lease price was $200+ over similarly priced/equipped competitors.

Outstanding work as we have become accustomed to from you. Nicely done good sir.

Gonna have to disagree with you on the title though. However in Hyundai's defense they probably drive well considering a few BMW execs have left BMW for Hyundai

Thank you sir. Yeah, they've hired away several from VW/Audi, BMW and Bentley to make their new lineup all that it can be. Most evident inside. Looks BMW'ish outside but Audi inside with a touch of Bentley too. Drives more like a BMW too.

I think my car looks like the previous gen A3/A4 so you can see the styling hand for sure:https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190925/7bfb4e85c07c935467d25509dcfb9aee.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190925/6c2b7a018be2067960fea3efc842ce87.jpg

Perfect clarity, cool car. The hood shot inside the garage...good lord. Creating whiplash no doubt.

Yeah, that paint color is one of my favorites.

Awesome job on that one, Tom. :)

The paint looks great. Excellent work on the detail.

Regarding the car itself I think the Genesis is nice but at the same time doesn’t have it’s own identity. Looks like it has the front of a Chrysler, tail of a Kia and side profile of a bmw/Lexus mix. I don’t really see what areas it is superior in. I have never driven one so I’m only going on what I can see and numbers listed on their website. Is it superior in looks/comfort/performance? Is your statement based on price? Just interested in your opinion. Thanks.
