I don't get too hung up on slickness as I'm focused on protection and gloss (in that order). I have noticed an application of Cure on top of CanCoat does make it noticeably slicker when applying after a wash.
CanCoat was one of those products that really surprised me. I was expecting it to be good, but not much better than other reputable sealants I've used. I was proven wrong. Not only does it look great, but even in my climate (also in the mid-west) I'll easily see 10+ months of visible protection. All I do is keep it as clean as possible and apply Cure every 2~3 weeks after washing except in the winter when the best I can do is a touchless wash whenever it gets above freezing.
