My vehicle (2018 f-150) has plastic painted door pillar trim pieces. These items came with a great deal of DSSM that I would like to get rid of. Other than the swirls, these parts are "like new". What's the best way to go about this? Can their finish be corrected like the finish on metal body parts? Can I use the same swirl removers? Should I work only by hand?

I use and show BLACKFIRE One Step with a soft foam polishing or finishing pad.

One and done.

If you're going to coat these panels then you can't use an AIO. So instead, use a fine cut polish.

Under the black portion is white plastic, so if you use too aggressive of a product or pad or both you can burn through the edges and corners, so this is why I use the above.

BF One Step is now available in a 16 ounce bottle. Previously only available in a 32 ounce bottle.

BLACKFIRE One Step 16 oz. (https://www.autogeek.net/blackfire-one-step-16.html) - $27.99

The 32 ounce bottle is a much better bang for your buck though,

BLACKFIRE One Step, BLACKFIRE Total Polish & Seal, polish and wax, cleaner wax, car polish (https://www.autogeek.net/blackfire-total-polish-seal.html) - $39.99

I won't argue with people any more, quit doing that years ago. I will tell you this though,

Abrasive Technology - THE most important factor when it comes to polishing paint (https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/2018-new-car-detailing-how-to-article-by-mike-phillips/120326-abrasive-technology-most-important-factor-when-comes-polishing-paint.html)

I'm a little disappointed in the price of the BF 16oz.

I'll never buy a 32oz bottle of anything (too much product for me).

But, I will also never pay 70% of the price for half the product. That's just crazy.

I guess we’ll wait for another good sale that I’m sure is coming up soon
