I had the pleasure of working on this 08 Ashton Martin with 4800 miles on it. As you can see the passenger door was repainted after someone backed into it and the paint does not match at all Doh! Anyway I was supposed to have this car for 2 days while the owner was out of town on a business trip and halfway into the detail I got a call that the owner was back in town and needed the car by the end of the day. Argh! Well that threw a crimp into my plan and I was only able to achieve about 90-95% correction overall which I was not very happy about but that’s the way the ball bounces sometimes. Ok, on with my process: washed with my Foam gun and two 5 gal buckets using DP Xtreme Foam Formula followed by Pinnacle Ultra Poly clay with Adams detail spray as lube. After taping off all the trim and covering the convertible top I began polishing with my Flex XC3401 and Menzerna SIP on a Score 6.5” yellow cutting pad. I would have preferred to step up to Menz Power Gloss Compound as this clear was pretty hard but I did not have the time to follow that up with a finishing polish so SIP it was, which finished down LSP ready. After an IPA wipe down I applied one coat of DWG and topped it with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint sealant. I wanted to try Ultima PGP with the DWG but it was dark out and it’s just too hard to see where the UPGP was applied in good lighting let alone poor lighting. Wheels wells were cleaned with APC and a long handle wheel brush and then treated with Griots Undercarriage spray. Tires were treated with Ultima Tire and Trim Guard Plus and the wheels were washed and topped with DP wheel glaze. The engine was pretty clean so it was simply wiped down with Adams detail spray and then followed with Ultima Tire and trim guard plus on the hoses and rubber parts. The interior was vacuumed and treated with Ultima Interior shampoo gel and sealed with Ultima Interior Guard Plus. Ok on with the pics:

Vantage also, not DB9.....but any Aston oozes sex and class. One of the Viper tuners was trying to crack the new Vantage and do twin turbos, but project was stopped. Software will need more time for tunning and research.

I thought it was a DB9 hmm. I thought the vantage was the 12 cylinder, this was an 8. Oh well my bad yet again! ha..ha..! a little out of my price range anyway ha..ha..! I will say he mentioned that he had done an aftermarket exhaust and let me tell you this thing woke the neighbors when it came grumbling up. Super hot sound!

Super hot sound!Even stock they are loud and agressive sounding, I could not believe how loud it was for a factory car, especially an Aston. Wicked sound too, sounds like a combination of an American Muscle car/Exotic. Just needs more power.

Lots of european cars are using active exhaust systems to beef up the sounds. The butterfly in the exhaust opens and closes depending on throttle and the sounds are so much deeper. The F430 has one, im not sure if Astons do though. BTW great detail.
