Boat detailing – where do I start?
Surely you’ve asked yourself that question, or else you wouldn’t be researching and reading about the best boat detailing classes in the first place. We have an answer for that question, and it’s at Autogeek's Boat Detailing Class.

Tools? You like tools?
Our one-day boat detailing class provides an in-depth look at boat detailing inside and out. You'll get thorough instructions on how to properly machine sand a boat, remove sanding marks and oxidation with a high speed rotary polisher, machine-apply a wax using a dual action polisher, and more!

We'll go over how to use the Flex 3401 (http://www.marine31.com/best-boat-buffer.html) for production boat detailing.

You'll get to use the RUPES BigFoot 21 (http://www.marine31.com/rupes-lhr-21es-big-foot-polisher.html) for creating a show car finish on black gel-coat boats.

We'll go over machine sanding using the Flex 3401 (http://www.marine31.com/best-boat-buffer.html) (that's right we're going to machine sand with the Flex 3401) and the Porter Cable 7424XP Polisher (http://www.marine31.com/poca74hdpl.html).

For sanding you'll learn how to use the Mirka Abralon Sanding Discs (http://www.marine31online.com/gallery/data/531/Marine_31_Boat_Detailing_Class_062.jpg) by machine and by hand. You'll also learn why it's smarter to machine sand heavily oxidized gel-coat boats versus compound with a rotary buffer.

Limited Class Size

The class size will be limited to give everyone an opportunity to ask questions and practice the techniques. The class will be held in the fully equipped Autogeek Show Car Garage located at our headquarters in Stuart, Florida.

These are intense hands-on classes!

What to bring: Bring a pen and paper to take notes if you like. All chemicals and tools will be provided.

Dress: Dress is casual, remember you're going to be washing a boat as well as detailing the boat inside and outside. Please DO NOT wear Flip Flops or dress shoes of any kind. Wear work clothes like jeans, t-shirt and tennis shoes, the kind of clothes that you would wear when washing and detailing a boat.

We cannot emphasis enough that these are very HANDS-ON classes so get a good night's sleep the night before the class and be ready to learn and have fun!

Note: This will be the only boat detailing class for 2020.
The timing of this is right after the Stuart Boat Show and well before the boat season starts. This gives you time to take the class and then get your boat ready for summer. If you detail boats for money then attend this class and position yourself to dominate your market.

Our last boat detailing class filled up fast so mark your calendars and plan your schedules accordingly.

If you're driving or flying in from any kind of distance and especially if you're attending both the Saturday and Sunday class, here's some helpful information.

Hotels

Courtyard Stuart (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/pbist-courtyard-stuart/)
7615 SW Lost River Road
Stuart, Florida 34997

Tell them you're with Palm Beach Motoring and that our rate code is PBME. Hotel rates fluctuate according to season and other events. We, (Autogeek), do not own the Marriott, so for accurate prices, call them to get the current room rates for the time you will be attending the class. This is true for ALL hotels.

The Courtyard Stuart has an in-house restaurant and the Cracker Barrel and McDonald's are right next door. They offer free Wireless Internet in all their rooms.

NOTE: I recommended the Courtyard Stuart because it's nice, has a restaurant/lounge and is one of two of the closest hotels to Autogeek. I did not recommend it because it was the cheapest. For lower cost hotels in the Stuart area, do a Google search or use a website like Trivago.

Also close to Autogeek and right across the street from the Courtyard Stuart,

Holiday Inn Express - Stuart Florida (http://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/us/en/stuart/suafl/hoteldetail)
7900 SW Lost River Road
Stuart, FL 34997
772-287-2522

Wendy's and Dunkin Donuts are right next door. They offer free Wireless Internet in all their rooms.

My personal recommendations for great places to eat while you're here in Stuart,

Italian Cuisine

La Forchetta (http://www.laforchetta.net/)

Hands=down the best Italian food you will ever eat. If the owner Dominic is there, tell him Mike Phillips sent you. This restaurant is literally right down the road from Autogeek. It's in the same parking lot as the Holiday Inn Express and across the street from the Courtyard Stuart (see hotels above)

Seafood

Fresh Catch (https://www.freshcatchstuart.com/)

Again, if you love great seafood then Fresh Catch is hands-down the best seafood in town. It's only about 3 miles down Kanner highway and then a right on Indian street, go through 2 lights and take a left and you're there.

When you get there, if you're sitting at the bar, tell Boomer I sent you.

Before you sign-up for this class, research for any other class that can document exactly what you're going to do.

Also note in all the pictures taken at out boat classes - no sitting. If you learn best by sitting in a chair listening to someone talk, then find a different class. If you learn best by DOING - then this class is for you.

Andre says this class is already filling up.

Hate to sound like a broken record, (does anyone know what a record is?), but the most common question I get about the boat detailing class goes like this,

When is the next class?

I'm asked this AFTER the ONLY class we teach each year and it's ALWAYS in February.

So clear your schedule and get signed-up before the class sells out and it always sells out.

I've secured one boat for this class, it's a 21' Sea Hunt Center Console. It's in really bad condition.

The owner will send me some pictures tomorrow.

This first picture is not the actual boat but a picture of the same boat I snagged off of the Internet.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/3941/Sea_Hunt_001.jpg

This IS the actual boat, at least the side of the hull showing the oxidation and scarring.

Working on the second boat.

This is the ONLY hands-on boat detailing class on Planet Earth. Any new boat classes will never be as hands-on as the classes I teach. To be blunt, there simply no sitting time, it's all hands-on from start to end. If you plan on attending, get signed up before it sells out.

There's only 6 spaces left for the boat class.

This class always sells out.

Call Andre to reserve your space.

This is the ONLY boat detailing class where you actually train on boats. There are no chairs. If you want to sit in a chair to learn how to detail a boat then do some searching on Google.

This class is about 4 weeks out. We only hold this class ONCE a year.

The most common question I get about the class is AFTER the class and that question is by those that missed the class.

The question goes like this,

When's the next class?

Then I tell them....

NEXT YEAR.
