Need some education on APC's. Are we talking about automotive specific APC'S or are commercial/retail products like Simple green, ZEP, etc included in this group ?
What are your favorite APC's ?

Yes, some have used the ones that you mentioned. It all depends on the dilution rate that you use. I used to use SG but got concerned when we saw it stain aluminum. I now use Zep @ 1:1 as a degreaser. My absolute favorite APC and I think best bang for the buck is 303 Cleaner since you can use so many different dilution rates. I'm using 20:1 and 30:1 for most stuff. It can also be used at approx. 5:1 as a degreaser.

Like Jimmie said, 303 cleaner is one of the best and most versitile APC out there. $35 seems like a lot, but that gallon goes a LOOONNNG way, as most applications only require 20-30:1 dilution ratio. Meg's APC is decent too, and fairly economical to boot.

One of the best APC's I have used is the new Ultimate Simple Green...its made for aircraft so its aluminum safe..paint safe...cleans like a beast..it has a corrision inhibator in it so you get no white blooms on engine aluminum parts...like i said..it cleans like a beast...and it dilutes very well...a gallon goes a loooong ways....

Ultimate Simple Green....you can get at some parts stores that sell it..they may have to order it for next day...some small airports may have it also....

safe on polished aluminum rims also

In the past I used Simple Green exclusively, but once I found out about how corrosive it was for aluminum I started using Charlie's Soap APC and have been very satisfied with that. Diluted 10:1 I use it everywhere from sidewalls to countertops and spills on the carpets in my house.

I consider a good APC one that can be used safely on almost any surface without damaging it - leather, paint, fabric, engines, vinyl, wheels etc...

I like Special Cleaner (713) from Auto Magic. You can go anywhere from 4 - 20 to 1 with it. Really nice and safe on leather too.

I use Megs APC+ (orange) on carpets. Cleans well and cost efficient.
