I have one RV customer and he wants the shine restored and maintained on the top front overhang.

The best I can tell, it is similar to a boat's gel coat type of finish. It looks a bit chalky.

Now I will readily admit, I don't have a lot of experience with this type of finish. Like the few boat's I've done, I tend to go with my rotary, wool pads and compound to cut through the weathered oxidation (if that's what it is). I then refine it with foam and polish and then seal it.

The cut and buff goes fine. Is there a better LSP to keep it from clouding up so quickly?

In the last 5 boat detailing classes I've taught I show using a ceramic coating for gel-coat.

The feedback I get from ceramic coatings on gel-coat from boat owners is the results last longer than waxes or sealants.

We just did an extreme makeover on severely neglected gel-coat and to SEAL the gel-coat surface we used a gel-coat specific ceramic coating.

This weekend or next week, not 100% sure, Marine 31 is launching a brand new updated version of the Marine 31 Captain's Gel-Coat Boat Coating and a prep spray to go with it. This is what we used on the Cougar Tunnel Hull in the pictures above.

In my experience and opinion, your best is to use a ceramic coating for this customer.
