I recently worked on this black on black 2017 Dodge Charger Daytona 392 during the memorial day weekend.

I did not take too many photos during the process. But it received the typical wash and decon prior to polishing. Nothing new or exciting here other than being careful with the matte vinyl area.

The paint was in rough shape. I did a few test spots and in the end 3D One with a Rupes Yellow foam pad yielded the best results for a one step prior to a ceramic coating.

I am sure some of you are going to freak out because the paint is not perfect with the deeper RIDS still left behind but this was a paint enhancement as it is a daily driver and not a show car. No sense in removing more clear than needed for a car that will see daily abuse. Made a judgment call and gave the customer what he asked for as he will be owning this car for many years.

This Charger has the matte vinyl graphics on the roof, trunk , rear quarter panels, the hood and the small 392 emblems on the side fender. These areas were simply wiped down with CarPro Eraser and coated with two coats of CarPro Skin. The vinyl surfaces appeared richer after they were coated.

50/50 after Skin was applied.

Left with a nice finish after leveling.

The wheels are also a matte finish and the same concept was followed in prepping them for a coating. They were wiped down with Eraser and coated with 22ple VM1. The wheels appeared richer. Only the faces were coated.

The paint was wiped down with Pinnacle Black Label prep spray and coated with the SPS Graphene Coating. I have to thank Dave aka DaveT435 for sending this coating out to me to test out. Only one coat was applied.

Good angle to show the contrast of the matte graphics and the black paint.

Nice work The Guz! :props:

The Charger isn’t too common in these parts, certainly not like the Challenger is anyhow. Pretty cool I say. I’m digging the graphics on this one & I like how Skin makes it a darker, richer look.

Super nice work on this beast Michael, it looks incredible. Will you be maintaining this into the future?? If so, I’d be interested to know how the Coating performs.

Great post mate, thanks for sharing. :props:

Thanks. I may see it every now and then. I am curious to see how well it holds up for him. But do't worry, I put this coating on one area of my daily driver about a month ago. So I will have some data to share on my personal car.
