This question is about pressure washer for car wash in mind.
What is more important when choosing pressure washer? Pressure or Flow Rate?

A mix of both. If had to choose one just for car washing GPM. Multi use around house PSI.

The question should be what is the the flow rate and pressure range that you need for your use

Each type of use has its different flow rate and needed pressure

Sole purpose is car washing as mentioned in the first post

IMO:
Both can be considered important.

However:
I’ve found that when it comes to the
rinsing stage of the overall car washing
process, flow becomes “more” important.

I agree with Bob.

Even a "lesser" pressure washer will have around 1200 psi. That is more than enough to knock off loose dirt.

It's when you go to rinse, or do a broader cleaning (think vinyl siding), that you want a higher flow rate.

I have a 4500 lb engine driven pressure washer that has to have enough available GPM to even be able produce that much pressure. Anything over a couple hundred pounds is a lot of pressure if adequate flow rate is available. You should be able to supply at least 5 GPM to have good pressure.
