I ordered a mark 3 15 and currently use a porter cable. When looking for new pads for the mark 3 I’m seeing a lot with the holes in the middle of them. Do I need to only use the foam with the hole in the middle?
I have some LC foams ccs or something like that.

Anyway do I need to use foam pads with the hole in the middle on a rupes mark 3 15

You don't have to but the hole in the middle is usually to help keep the heat low on the pad. As the pad spins product migrates to the middle of it and more product and friction = heat. Not every pad will have that but with a large throw machine there will be more friction and more heat so they often put those holes on pads meant for the 15 or 21mm long throw orbit. Personally I don't find the CCS pads that great so with time when you need more pads, get those made for long throw machines.

The Rupes polisher is a system machine and works best with its pads and polishes. If you are learning to polish I would stick to using Rupes pads until you are familiar with the machine then branch out.
