Maybe I miss what people write as I don't think I have seen a post explaining that some cleaner is needed after polishing as the polish leaves oils. What is everyone using? Can alcohol or AIO be used or is a prep needed like a Hi-Temp Prep?

I usually just wash my car with soap after polishing and before applying a selant or wax. I have been using menzerna polish which is water based.

I like to use a 50/50 mix of Alcohol and Distilled water after polishing to ensure that the polish is completely removing the defects and not filling.

Check paint surface - Menzerna Top Inspection, Du Pont Prep-Sol ® 3919S or 1:1 solution
Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) / distilled water

Final paint surface prep - chemical (solvent) cleaner- to remove any oils / waxes / silicone (Swissvax Cleaner Fluid)

I don't bother as all the oils are all broken down and gone anyway
And Menzerna doesn't fill so thats not a problem

However sometimes I'll use the permanent filling products to polish a car with
Depends on the paint thickness
