Wondering if anyone has suggested ways of applying a ceramic to a plastic grille that had probably 100-150 small holes about 1/2” wide and 1/2” deep. The Grille is all clean and ready, and I have DLUX to apply.

just trying to think of an easy way to apply and buff. Best I can come up with is a small foam tip applicator with MF applicator wrapped on it.

I asked this this previously in an unrelated thread, but figured I’d start a specific one to ask to see if any other ideas are out there.

Rasky used to spray grilles like that with a small airbrush.

It's in this thread: 2012 Kia Optima, new car prep and Opti-Guard coating: Rasky's Auto Detailing (https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/43565-2012-kia-optima-new-car-prep-opti-guard-coating-raskys-auto-detailing.html)

Came here to say the same thing. blue is a really cool product for those types of applications. Not cheap, but pretty cool. I also like the mkees aerosol trim spray for these spots.

A lot of patience. I hate those new Lexus' because of that grill all models except for the LS have. If airbrushing the DLUX is not an option then pieces of cut MF, foam tip applicators and cotton swabs. Northern Tools stores sell packets with hundreds of different sized industrial purpose swabs. There will be some wastage of the DLUX for sure since you will have to keep changing out whatever applicator you're using. I doubt you will end up only using one type.

I’m looking to either coat or replace my grill on my mustang. It has a PIA honey comb grill. I’ve been looking at foam tipped applicator sticks but read the soak up 2 much product. The can drip and not apply evenly.

I’m thinking maybe using an eyeshadow applicator. Their safe enough for skin. Eye shadow can be expensive so I’m assuming the won’t absorb as much (also the foam is significantly more dense than foam applicator stick). The also need to spread shadow evenly.

Just take the suede by itself and use that apply the coating. For the solid areas you will need some sort of applicator to get even coverage.

Something like this will work. Or wrap a q tip with the suede and work it in.

Looks like a gt grill. Does it have a blacked out pony? How did you open up all the honeycombs or did you buy like that.”? Looks good. Thinking of doing that or buying a 1 chamber RaceMesh grill.

Also with the entire grill opened up. Be careful with SORO products. That’s wide open and radiator right behind.

I was at work and just pulled an image off the net of the grille. Mine looks like that one, but my has the black pony, and not the logo in that pic.
