I'm having problems removing some water spots from the black trim on a Tahoe running board. These spots are just below where the water drips off between the doors.

I have tried the following:
- meguiars back to black
- black fire apc
- dp exterior cleanse all

No success so far.

The plastic was coated with carpro dlux years ago, but I dont thing it's the coating.

Mineral spirits? Open to suggestions.

If water spot removers aren't working, I would try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser first (followed by your favorite trim restorer), and if that didn't work, a heat gun used carefully. Solution Finish is the best trim blackener I've ever used, but I would try to remove the spots before using it.

If water spot removers aren't working

The OP didn't say any had been used:

CarPro Spotless Water Spot Remover (https://www.autogeek.net/carpro-spotless-water-spot-remover.html)

Optimum MDR Mineral Deposit Remover, water spot remover for paint, water spot remover glass (https://www.autogeek.net/optimum-mdr-water-spot-remover.html)

Duragloss Water Spot Remover (WSR) #505 (https://www.autogeek.net/duragloss-water-spot-remover.html)

But I wouldn't have any great faith those will work, on that coated surface. You can also try some white vinegar.

Tried McKee water spot remover, with steamer, then back to black with steam, and apc with steam. No luck. Wanted to try one more thing before resorting to mineral spirits or magic eraser. Found fun mentioning using M205 to remove, by golly it worked!
