Cutting microfiber

Has anyone successfully cut a large edgeless microfiber towel into smaller ones?

Strange thing to request, but i require 20x20mm (~8x8in) plush polishing towels for a project. Think TRC edgeless 350 but smaller.

Impossible to find in high quality at that size, figure cutting might be a good option.

If you’ve done it before, I’d love to know if it worked and how you went about it.

Nobody has input on this? There are some situations where I would like to use a smaller piece, and just use something I have laying around.

Guess I will just have to try it, and see whether it frays quickly.

I think Griot's sells 9x9 towels that are pretty nice... otherwise use scissors

Only because I spent some time in my ancient history selling men's clothing, and became a bit familiar with tailoring, I'd suggest using pinking shears. They are the ones that cut jagged edges in material. I don't know why, but this helps cloth that no longer has a finished edge keep from fraying.

Beyond that, unless your need will be ongoing, cut away. Even if they don't last, they can be replaced.

Those are PFM’s in the pic. Polish removing towels but feel like regular PFM’s.

Their are new white wax removal towels so these ones are on sale super cheap. $5.99. For 2 with 20% off. Won’t get much cheaper and these are amazing towels.

A few years ago, I gave my wife a few of my cheaper short nap 16x16 microfiber towels to use in the kitchen and she cut them into quarters and so far they have not unraveled to any major extent. The cut edges are a little frayed but they are not falling apart.
