Video: What the classroom looks like the night before class starts!

I shot this video Thursday night before the first day of our 3-day class. While there are chairs and tables, they are mostly just wasting space as the guys taking this class will not have time to use them.

Yes, I have a question; can you set up some type of sham of a contest and let me win an all expense paid trip to one of your classes down your way? :xyxthumbs:

By chance, do you know yet where your classes will be next year as far as being close to Louisville, KY? I know you were at Indy I think last year and Auburn this year. I didn't know if you usually tried to hit around that area every year or not.

Thanks, Greg

Awesome, what a neat video. :props:

I must’ve missed this one back in February. I remember the cars etc but this is the first time seeing this video.
Pretty impressive sight Mike, that’s a whole lot of work in itself too. Great job & a belated thanks for sharing Mike. :props:

That's a question for the marketing side of upper management. :)

I have a few tentative dates and locations for the first part of next year. What I'd recommend is if anyone really wants to take the 2-day class and it's within travel distance to you - then go to it. The Roadshow Classes may or may not continue.

For years people tell me to bring the class to their state. Then when we do it's like pulling teeth to get people to sign-up. Most say either the cost is too high or they say they are not pro detailers, thus the class is not for them. I'm sure some people take a free class and assume all classes are the same so they don't need to go to a class like the one I teach.

Hey... the market will decide. It's easier for me to not do the roadshow classes and enjoy my weekends off.

So if you're reading this and getting to Stuart, Florida is out of your budget here's some alternatives and they may be the last of the roadshow classes....

I'm glad I take these types of videos. It shows people all the cool cars and tools they get to use at our classes.

I NEVER EVER see videos like this for any other class. In fact I never see pictures of the cars and tools you get to use at any other class. My guess is pictures of chairs, or videos of chairs wouldn't be a very good selling point.

Here's the link to the pictures and comments thread from this class. In my mind, the fact that absolute strangers, some who have NEVER machine polished before, started Friday morning working on 2 bad ass cars!

There's simply NO other car detailing class where those attending get to do this. No where.

Next 3-day class here at Autogeek in Stuart, Florida is the last weekend of September.

Thanks Mike, I'll take it up with Upper Management.......:bat:

The Powell, Ohio one would be within driving distance. But as my luck usually goes, I have to spend my private stash on getting rid of termites and their lovable damage. But, I'll keep an eye out for future Roadshows just in case.

Thanks for the reply.

Great set up ! I am sure the “students” will be all pumped up walking into that classroom.

If the rest of the scheduled locations don't get sign-ups in the next day or two, they will get cancelled and then there might not be any more roadshow classes.

Too many people talk.... no follow-up with the walk.

Then we'll just have the three, 3-day classes here in Stuart, Florida and anyone that wants a real hands-on class, working on real cars with yours truly can drive or fly here, get their hotel rooms, rental cars etc.

I fully understand that..... You wouldn't take a few pounds of dead termites in exchange for class fee's would you. I hear they are worth their weight in gold. Or, is that eat their weight, I forget.

Thanks for the reply.

That would be a shame if the roadshow classes were eventually discontinued. I took the class in Medford,NJ last year and it was a fantastic experience.

It's really about the market or people. If people don't see the value then there is no market. There will always be free classes but I can guarantee you, at the free class they won't be shipping in the quantity and quality of tools and products you get to use at a pay-for class. Just goes back to,

You get what you pay for

I took the class in Medford, NJ last year and it was a fantastic experience.

And interestingly enough, that was the largest Roadshow Class we've held even though it wasn't held with a vendor at a vendor's location. In fact, it has been the SMALLEST shop I've held a class at yet the class went PERFECT.

Here's a group shot from the FIRST two cars this class detailed. I can tell you straight-up, there's NO OTHER class where the first two cars a class works on are this cool.

23 people in this class and I hope you will agree - there was never anyone NOT getting my attention or NOT getting all the hands-on time they wanted.

We also started on time each day and there was no sitting around due to the VOLUME of brands of tools, pads and products you all were able to use.

I hope they don't go away but it really comes down to people signing up. No one signs up - no more roadshow classes. Anyone reading this right now that doesn't have the budget to get to Florida for our big 3-day class then I'd recommend getting signed up for the Ohio or Pennsylvania classes and do by next week or they will get cancelled.

Having the class closer to Philadelphia would have generated more draw of Detailers even though Allentown is only 1 hour from Philly. But I am sure there is a reason for picking certain sites.

The class in Medford was totally hands on with individual one on ones, well done!

I’m the guy with the teal shirt next to Allen and you ( I would have taken the Allentown class this year to pick up some new skills and brush up on current knowledge if I didn’t have my nieces wedding in NYC that Saturday 12Aug. Allentown is only 45 minutes from my house. my family would disown me if I didn’t attend the wedding, ugh!

To date, I do about 99.9% of obtaining the location and I obtain them by either contacting a vendor or more often, someone contacts me and offers their shop. That would be the case for Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Thank you. And for anyone reading this into the future - all the classes are totally hands-on and I make sure I work one-on-one with everyone.

Copy that. Thanks for jogging my memory, I meet a LOT of people and it's hard to put a face to a name or forum nickname all the time.

So this is you working on the driver's side of the hood using the correct technique with the cord over your shoulder and holding the pad flat to the surface of this old 2-door Chevy. :)

Ha ha.... I tend to remember a person's car better than I remember their name. :)

Thanks for attending the class and even more, thank you for being a positive contributing member of this forum. So few people that take my class are what I call,

"Forum People"

As I watched that entire video it struck me that it's no small task to set all that stuff up so neat and organized. I hope you don't do that alone, Mike but if you do my hat's off to you. Then there's the breakdown and prep for shipment back to Stuart.

That's a ton of work!
