Do all white paints contain titanium, does titanium itself harden pants, therefore are all white paints hard ?

I would imagine that it is likely that most white paints have titanium dioxide.

Yes, titanium dioxide does make the paint hard.

Are all white painted vehicles considered to have hard paint?

Yes, and no.

Yes, if is single stage white paint. Single stage does not have clear applied over it.

Possibly no if it has had clear coat applied over it. It would depend the hardness of the clear.

I believe some companies still do single stage while paint because of its durability, and has the added bonus that it has no clear coat that will fail later.

therefore are all white paints hard ?
•For a starting place...I’m just going with
BC/CC Paint Systems (the majority of
OEMs’ paint systems) for the moment.

•If the BaseCoat of a BC/CC paint system is one
of the many “whites”; and, if that particular white
BC has a ClearCoat paint film on top of it;
-then, short of “breaking through” the CC: how in
the world would you ever find out if this particular
BC’s white paint would be hard, or not?

-Will OEMs and/or their paint suppliers provide
this usually well-guarded information to any
’outsiders’?

Tip (courtesy of Mike Phillips):
•Regardless the vehicles’ Paint Systems type;
and its perceived level of softness/hardness;
-performing the obligatory “Test Spot” will
provide the necessary information for paint
films’ correction processes.

Thanks Bob. That settles that, makes perfect sense. Thanks.
