Afternoon, everyone. I recently dropped my ‘13 Infiniti G37 off for an oil change. When I picked it up, I noticed that there was blue paint smeared on the center console as well as on the side of the passenger seat (leather).

I let the techs see it and they identified it as the paint that they use to mark oil pan drain plugs after the oil change is done. Evidently, the guy who worked on my car had it on his shirt and then it got transferred to the interior.

Anyone have advice on getting it removed? The leather is in perfect condition and has been regularly treated to zmol cleaner and conditioner.

Try paint thinner in an inconspicuous area. Acetone and gasoline will probably remove the paint, but might be too strong of a solvent for the leather coating.

Ummm, dumb question but have you asked the shop how they're going to remove it?

Try picking it off with your thumbnail,if its what we call a junk yard marker it is liquid and probably oil based ,

Ill see if I can one around here and what removes it

Edit;acetone, thinner and brake cleaner removed it but O wouldn't want to use any of them on leather
