Noticed after the first wash Sun, that my normal #253 with a foam applicator is not going to cut on the Duratrac tires. My thinking is I would love to switch to a aerosol dressing, but never found one that did not sling! So I figure using the #253 with a CARAND TIRE APPLICATOR BRUSH should take care of dressing the aggressive sidewall. Your thoughts? I would also like to try the new McKess SI02 tire dressing.

Get this brush I once recommended to you in this thread. I know you’ve tried the Mothers brush but they’re completely different. Prime the brush with a generous amount of tire dressing before the 1st tire.

Yea. I totally forgot about that brush and method. That should work. Thanks!

Doesn't Meg's have an aerosol tire coating? I know they just came out with an Insane Shine one, but they mentioned it complemented a previous one.

Other than that maybe you need to switch to a coating in general just so you don't have to apply as often, if application is going to be a pain. Optimum just announced their own tire coating, my guess is it will be the most cost-effective of the bunch (compared to Tuf Shine and McKee's).

I’ll go ahead and assume that your owning
this iteration of the ZR2 means you want to,
at the very least, do some dabbling in the
off-road world.

Keeping that in mind, along with the PA
Winters (where the low-crawl-ratio is also
going to be quite useful)...then I’ll suggest:
Mothers Back to Black Tire Shine.

IMO:
•Even though it’s a spray product,
that costs only ~$11.00 for 24oz.,
it still should fill the bill for those
occasional times when you’re not
out and about enjoying this vehicle
for all of its intents and purposes.

I’ve only experienced tire sling once in my life. It happened on a set of large nobby truck tires. If for whatever reason you run into the tire sling problem.. Tire Foam. Works near perfect and will not sling.

I recently used Griot’s Satin aerosol spray on my truck’s tires.
2 rounds with tire cleaner, sprayed tire with Griot’s and leveled/dried with my Sidekick.

I spray with Hyper Dressing dilluted to your liking. Let it sit while you are doing other stuff, then dab the excess off with an old MF towel. I have seen where some people use old foam buffing pads cut up rather than a towel....

X2 for the Griots Satin aerosol.....I drive the vehicle onto pieces of cardboard to avoid the aerosol-induced 'smiles' on the asphalt

Stoner More Shine is good and will keep in line with your old DG 253 cost. AG bundle of 3 cans for 15$ is a great deal. One coat will give you a satin look.
