Hey everyone just had a quick question. How do you tell if headlight haze is in the inside or on the outside? I'm learning on how to restore headlight I understand the whole concept but dont understand how do you tell if its inside or outside. Thank you

It is almost always on the exterior.

The sunlight UV rays break down the clear coat and causes them to yellow.
Interior problems would be from bad seals and that is a whole different story.

If you have any soft scrub, bon ami or the like try a test spot. Or simply rub it with your finger.
Ideally you would use a car compound to experiment.
Mequiars Ultimate Compound is sold at walmart which would work better and is also a good thing to have.

When I was preparing to sell my 2006 Honda Accord, both headlights had some hazing. I did a quick hand buff with some menzerna polish I had and the right one cleared up right away. The left one looked better but was still a bit cloudy. I figured the inside was starting to break down too. The headlight did not have any moisture but the driver’s side receives most of the sunlight when parked in my driveway.
