Using LC Force 56.5” grey with m105 on a DA.primed pad, four dots, speed 3-5 not laying into it, DA spinning freely, used IPA afterwards. Nothings clearing it up and the more passed, the foggier it gets. Terribly difficult to remove the compound after use. Used same setup with different harbor freight pads all week with no issues.

The LC Gray pad is pretty aggressive. And coupled with 105, even more so.

What are you trying to achieve on the black paint?

Try a diminishing compound instead of a SMAT one! Also, what's the paint thickness there and elsewhere on the car? And are you sure the pad is actually spinning and doing evenly so?

I’m trying to complete 2 step correct with 105/205. Was under the impression grey was a good cutting pad for 105

What compounds would you recommend? I don’t know of any diminishing compound products off of the top of my head. Pad is spinning freely. I have marks on the pad to indicate rotation.

That grey pad is incredibly stiff and sharp.

What other foam pads do you have on hand?

The Gray LC is really aggressive, like I said.

Best practice is to try the least aggressive pad/product first, then step up in increments of pad/product combos.

LCF White and Black. Also have cheap brand new Harbor Freight pads that have worked fine all week

Hard to remove compound after polishing. Bells and whistles should be going off in your head
Sounds like paint residue from soft paint.
I would try soft pad with 205 swipe right and left wipe off and see what you got.

Yeah,

Looks like you are using a combination too aggressive for the paint.

Try the M205 on a white pad.

If you still need correction, try M105 on the orange HF pad, and follow with M205 on the blue HF, or white LC pad.

See where that gets you.

Before I get into this one, let me ask:

What is the subject you are working on?
