Are you still undecided on whether a Ceramic Coating is right for you? Ceramic Coatings are far more capable than a traditional wax or sealant in terms of protecting your cars surfaces from UV and environmental damage. They perform a long term bond usually measured in years compared to a few months out of a wax or sealant. Q² CanCoat delivers a ton of gloss and very intense hydrophobic properties. So how do you use it?
Always start with a wipe down using GYEON Q²M Prep. This product will remove the oils and lubricants from a previous detailing step and make sure we have a perfect bond between the paint and Q² CanCoat.

Next, spray 1 or 2 sprays of Q² CanCoat in to the included Microfiber towel, or any high quality Microfiber of your choice. Less is more here. You do not need a heavy amount of product or to see a thick layer built up on the surface. Make sure to “cup” the sprayer to control any overspray, as it is possible to float a bit of product on to another area if not careful.

Now using a relatively quick arm speed, and over about a shoulder width area, we simply work Q² CanCoat in to the surface allowing the carrier solvent to evaporate quickly. After 3-4 section passes, when the product has nearly disappeared, flip the towel or use a second to wipe up any excess product. That’s it! You’ve just applied an SiO2 based coating to your paint. I always use a hand held light to show me where I have excess product built up and need to remove a bit more to avoid streaking.

Now sit back and enjoy the gloss! You can apply Q² CanCoat in multiple layers for more performance, at a maximum of 3 layers. You can also apply to other areas like wheels and plastic trim. This Ferrari 355 is wearing a bit of Q² CanCoat on the paint, trim, and wheels. The yellow looks fantastic and will be very easy to clean. Don’t forget to remove, clean, and flush your sprayer well after each use. Return the metal cap to Q² CanCoat for storage.
