Is the mark II 21 going to save me a significant amount of time when detailing a large truck or suv? Or am I good with my 15?

21 will definitely save you time, even with a 5” backing plate.

Are you saying you have both the 15 and 21? If so, use the 21 for large panels and the 15 for the rest.

I upgraded to the MKII 15 to reduce stalling on side panels, but kept my old 21 for hoods/tops where it never stalls. Yes the 21 will save you lots of time by covering more space with larger stroke and larger pads(7 in. Vs 6 in. Rupes pads).

Yes.

Stick with the RUPES 7" yellow and white pads and get a GREAT one-step cleaner/wax. I'd recommend checking out the BLACKFIRE One Step if you have never used it. The perfect product for working on LARGE flat surfaces outdoors. Especially expensive clearcoated RVs.

Definitely is a good combo of pads and product. I use it often.
