flex 3401 surface rust on internal housing

recently inspected the flex 3401...

all is good but after taking the backing plate off..i noticed some surface rust on the internal metal housing...

metal housing being the metal body of the flex visible once removing the backing plate.

anyone else seeing this on theirs and if so...doing anything about it? coating in light oil for prevention etc?

I see this on most of the 20+ FLEX 3401s in our garage.

Never stopped me from using one. If you like, clean up and rub some oil on it.

...its par for course...keep polishing......

when i catch a minute..i may give that internal housing a clean rag ..light oil rubdown

gotta say after having the flex for over a year and just recently used it for a 2 step correction this past weekend....very very pleased with it.
