I just got the menzerna 3800, and the 3500, did I need them both? What's the difference in the cut? Or does the 3800 have any cut at all?

Looking at your previous post: why are you buying multiple similar items then asking which one you should use. Perhaps read about what your going to buy, research, ask question then buy the one you think is best suited.

Probably did not need them both. Just use the 3500. The 3800 has very little cut. I’ve tried 3800 after 3500 and really couldn’t tell the difference. Since you have it you might as well give 3800 a try maybe on a CarPro Gloss Pad to go from 95% to 98% gloss. It’s a hobby, enjoy it!

I got them lake country force hybrid pads, so what color is the car pro gloss pad? For the polish I'm thinking about the white or black pad.

The 3800 and 3500 can both be used with the white. The black would be for soft paint or applying sealant and wax. Good luck as others have said noticing the difference between 3800 and 3500. I also purchased both in pursuit of the ultimate gloss. I ended up laughing at myself.

The difference is very little between them. 3500 Cut/Gloss 3/10 3800 C/G 2/10. You get a little more cut with 3500 and it's often used to gloss up after the cutting step. The 3800 is often used as jeweling polish. And the difference is often not noticeble for the naked eyes. You would need to be taking gloss reading to see the difference between them.

One thing 3800 is used with is to go over with when you are going to apply a new LSP. Say you use a LSP with a longevity of 6 months. And you have your washing technique dialed in so not being induse any wash marring that are to bad. You can go over with 3800 and a finishing or a polishing pad. To get a perfect finish to apply the LSP on. And you don't polish off any clearcoat to be noticed in the longrun. Then this is on show cars with perfect paint and finish. Or your garage queen or if you have a DD you want to have to those standards.

The 3500 would suit most people and be used as the finishing polish to max out the gloss. And it's has enough cut to follow up from a coarse cutting step and finish it beutieful.
