OEM paint are heat baked and don't require the gas off period.

VERY old question and it has been answered. Paint after an accident is a different story.

^^Good answers.

However:
I’m not sure if this also applies
to made in Kentucky cars.

{I’ll check with a couple of my
kinfolk that live down there, and
get back a little later...}

I coat a lot of airplanes with paint less than a week old. Modern paints “gas” off much quicker than old. We have never seen an issue in 20 years of painting by applying wax,sealants or coatings on fresh paint. Only thing we see is soft clear. Soft Clear is just harder to buff. Using a DA can marr it. We usually only use rotary to polish on fresh paint/clear. Then use DA with jeweling pad for wax/sealants. The owner of the shop I do work for was a paint/coatings engineer for 15 years before opening his own paint shop. He laughs at people that say it takes 90 days to cure. He wouldn’t jeopardize a $150,000 paint job on a $5 million dollar airplane of wax or coatings were harming the paint. Every plane that leaves the shop has some sort of wax/sealant/coatings on it. All fresh paint.
