The wife asked me to show her how to wash her car. Cool... I decide to show her how to do rinseless.

Got the white rinseless MF towels out so she could see the dirt. Showed her how I move across one panel, flip it, take another pass, fold it, etc. She did one panel and seeed fine. I gave her some gentle coaching - all good. She goes to the other side of the car. She asked me what to do with a towel that had all the sides used. I told her I like to wring them out before throwing them in the dirty towel bucket. No problem. She gets a new towel from the rinseless wash bucket and goes back to her side.

A few minutes later I walk over. That side of the car is dry. Bone dry. I ask if she dried it. Nope. Hmm... I take a look at her MF. It's damp, not wet. "You told me to wring it out!"

This is why I could never teach.

Hahaha!!

Ugh....

Well, yesterday I had success with my gf not letting the dealership wash her truck when it was in for service!

It's a process sometimes....

I've never seen my wife wash a car in the 29 years we have been together. She has vacuumed the interior a few times. Yesterday I came home from work to find my son (20yrs) washing my pickup truck that he's kind of taken possession of. He's never washed it on his own before. He knew to use 2 buckets and picked the ones with the grit guards in them. I just told to wash the sides in an u and down motion and the tops in a front to back motion. Showed him the proper way to wipe it dry with a ww mf on one panel and then let him to the rest. He wanted to put on a spray wax afterwards so I had him apply some HydroSilex spray seal. He knew to wipe it on with one mf towel and then buff with a another dry mf towel so I left him alone. Like 30 minutes later I see him taking photos of the truck and sending them to his buddies all proud of his work.

I didn't really think he was paying attention to what I've been doing with all these cars all these weekends. but I guess he was.

Sometimes we seem to overlook the small things just because they’re from a different generation! Shows your a good parent[emoji1417]!

She did follow the instructions perfectly. My wife has never washed a car in the 30 years we have been married. That's mostly because of my OCD, that's not true, its ALL because of my OCD.

As I was reading this, I somewhat expected the dirty towels to be rung out into the clean rinseless solution. Give her 2 thumbs up!!

Good post, Rippy.

I also taught my wife to do an ONR rinseless because she has a Jeep, and either the top is off, doors off, or both.

I bought her a 9-pack of MF's and showed her the fold/flip method. Well, I guess that was a PITA to her, because now she only uses about 2 per wash.. SIGH.

Oh well, thank God for the GG6 and BOSS correcting creams.......... Lol
