Help me spend money

Have an 18 ram 3500 Laramie longhorn and 18 Infiniti qx80 both black with lots of leather inside.

Looking for suggestions to fill my shelves to keep these clean and looking great.

Everything from, soaps, wax, sealant, towels,mitts, etc.

Also what steps would you recommend with a new vehicle?

You are going to have hundred different people tell you a hundred different products are the best out there. But if you get anything from Gyeon, CarPro, GTechniq, Polish Angel or Sonax you’ll be good to go. That’s your top end company’s on here. I’m not saying all the other brands are no good. But sometimes it can be hit or miss on some of the other brands products. Whatever you get from the brands listed above will be a safe bet.

The brands you listed are far from a safe bet.. Some of my biggest duds have come from a few of those brands. Just sayin.

Just read on here and see what everyone is using. Look on Autogeek and see what has the best reviews in whatever category you’re looking at.

Eldorado2k give him some that you think are good. It doesn’t help him by saying some of your duds are from those companies. List the duds you got from them so he can avoid them.

I'm not big on interior stuff but used Gyeon Leather Shield on seats of new car 20k miles ago, still doing well. Applied around June 2017.

Also used it on some of our Service Tech Van seats March 2018; still holding up well despite some serious abuse.

My advice to someone new would be to choose one of the house brands (McKees or Wolfgang would be a good start) and try them out. There are others that are also relatively easy to apply, use and remove (i.e. Optimum, Meguiars, Griots, etc.) and people have good luck with them. On a scale of 1-100 most of the primary products (the ones OP mentioned) are 80-100 and the difference is not great. But, as Eldo says, there are sometimes duds in every lineup and much of it has to do with the specific requirements and not necessarily the product. I don't know of too many duds in the five brands I mentioned.

The link that Pro 4X gave you is a good place to start. I think I'm about three years into this, and I'm finally getting stuff sorted out, as to what I use and what I don't. Some of the top names you will see kicked around are McKees, Blackfire, Griots. Every manufacturer's line has some great stuff, some good stuff, and some not so good. For the most part, I've been happy with anything I have from griots and mckees, particularly my 6" DA polisher from Griots. If you're getting into machine polishing, I think it's a great place to start.

One thing I noticed about McKee's is that it tends to be very tolerant of extreme conditions, especially for those of us who can't avoid direct sunlight. I have never had any problems with any McKee's product in the sun, perhaps with the exception of Hydro Blue. Can't be said for a lot of other product lines which require shade and cooler temps. I believe one design strategy McKee's employs is being flexible in the working condition requirements.

I can't deal with products that have tight temperature ranges, no sunlight, no wind, sheltered environment, etc. Coatings, I get, but any product that restricts use in the sun, especially for those of us who don't have shade available is a non-starter.
