A car I recently detailed and sealed with wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant had a small parking accident and needs a small repaint. My client very politely solicited me to clean the parts that are going to be repainted so the people at the paint shop won’t have any adhesion problems. What would be my best option?

Your best option is let the paint shop do their own prep. They will probably prep before painting even if the owner said that you did the prep. Your client needs you after the repair and not before.

Agreed. Any legitimate body shop will always do their own prep. Otherwise, how could they ever stand behind their work?

I understand that the body shop should do their prep, and they probably “will”. My concerns are:
1. I don’t live in usa, this is a small city were there are very few “body shops”, it’s more a do it all shop.
2. My client is a very nice person who trusted me from day 1 and I want to spare him from this “problem”.
3. Things here don’t work as smoothly and a seriously as in the sates
All I want is to do try and clean it up a little, the body shop will probably do some cleaning too, and this way try and help my client as much as I can.
Thanks!!

What product do you plan to
use to clean the area that is
going to get the re-paint?

Edit
OOOPS...Didn’t see this in your OP:

My client very politely solicited me
to clean the paint...
What would be my best option?

I’ll suggest:
-3M Prep Solvent-70
-3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner
