I enjoy basic auto detailing but am very limited on time. Just bought a new VW Atlas RLine edition in white. Unfortunately, I didn’t research well and took some time and steps to enhance the look but now am trying to figure out next steps as I don’t love my initial product choice.

First I washed with Megs Gold Class soap. I then Clayed with Mother’s clay kit (minimal problems with paint).

Here is where I misstepped...

I typically use Collinite 845, but decided for something new. I fell for marketing and went with CG Top coat sealant with carranuba. Light fillers which took care of the very light occasional swirls with ok shine but the beading is not great and I have longevity concerns. I want to get better shine and durability but I don’t have a ton of time to “strip” this off and start over.

What do people recommend that I put on top of what I have done to date? It has only been about 2 weeks and the car is in a garage most of the time so there shouldn’t be virtually any contamination since last clay and wax.

Looking for something I can knock out after next wash that won’t take me a really long time of “starting over”. I have considered coatings but the prep and cure time is a deterrent for me. I think a good LSP on top of my “base” is probably the way to go but open to suggestion.

All guidance appreciated!

To be more specific, can I put a product like McKee’s 37 -260 sio2 paint coating on top of what I have done to date or do I need to do more prep first by getting rid of my cheap CG sealant I used initially?

I would either wash and put a coat of Collinite over the CG sealant OR I would polish off whatever is on the vehicle with this....

McKee's 37 Coating Prep Polish removes oils and silicones to promote proper bonding of a car paint coating (https://www.mckees37.com/coating-prep-polish.html)

and then proceed to use this....

McKee's 37 Paint Coating is a nanoglass ceramic coating that shields your vehicle against the elements for up to two years! (https://www.mckees37.com/car-paint-coating.html)

also, welcome to the forum.

Polish off previous sealant, apply Gyeon CanCoat: https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/gyeon-car-care-products/119554-made-video-showing-cancoat-my-infiniti.html#post1579947

Easy to use, long lasting, great water behavior and self cleaning.
