Hey everyone,
Need a bit of advise on what to purchase.

I was able to get a gallon of CG Butter Wet Wax for $5, and I recently picked up a Type R that has the typical dealer swirls in it. I will be purchasing some WG TSR 3.0 and come orange pads. My problem is, I don't know what to use in between the swirl remover and the butter wet wax.

Any thoughts or ideas on what I should get?

Thanks for the help in advance!!

Nice fine polish to enhance gloss.

I used the WG swirl remover then went to the WG finishing glaze.
I applied WG deep gloss paint sealant after that. It was the first time I have ever used a paint sealer rather than wax. I ended up waxing over the top and I was very happy with the results.

Not sure i actually needed the wax over the top but i wash my car often and enjoy applying a fresh coat of wax every four or five weeks.

The advantage i found with just the paint sealer is the lack of dust. I found the paint sealer much less likely to attract dust.

I'd give myself some options by getting WG finishing glaze and most likely, some HD Speed.

I don’t know what the swirls are but why limit your options and have to take off more than you want
on a new vehicle? If *just* the HD Speed gets it done, then you've saved.

WG Finishing Glaze and HD Speed would be some what redundant. I have both products. Having Speed I haven't had the need to use WGFG in over three years. And Speed would save you $$$$.

Does the HD Speed do well with removing swirls? Why would I not use WG Total Swirl Remover vs something else?

Thanks!

Speed is awesome at removing swirls, if indeed that's what you have.

Moderate or more severe paint defects will require more aggressive products/pad combos.

This is all subjective to the level of correction you expect to to achieve.

I used the Lake Country CCS Orange pads before

I'm fairly certain it is swirls, what else could it be? Its a brand new car, but it seems the dealer didn't do well with cleaning the car.

I'm just looking to remove the swirls and give it a nice wax. I will also be clay baring it.

Not trying to complicate your choice, was just making sure. The way some of these dealers butcher new cars is horrendous.

Speed and LC flat pads would be my choice. If you have the white pads from LC, try them first. (Least aggressive method).

I think you'll be satisfied with the results.

No, this is why I posted my question. So, I take it the TSR 3.0 with the Orange pad is for very heavily swirls cars, Yes?

So, I would use Clay to the HD Speed, to the CG Butter wet wax?

Least aggressive first. I think WGTSR is more aggressive than Speed which is why I mentioned it. You have a new car and it probably doesn't need all that much.

You can't put clearcoat back on.

Post some decent pictures and let the more experienced people here see what you're dealing with.

Clay? maybe. Do the baggie test first and see if you feel anything.

It was why I asked what Orange Pads, and from what I know, the Orange LC Pads might be very likely too aggressive a combo with WGTSR.

Generally as I've found, TSR finishes down superbly (with White LC Pads), might not need any further correction and be good to go with your finishing protectant, unless maybe you have super soft paint.

Clay

WG TSR on Orange pad
WG FG on White pad

Wax

WG TSR kinda equivalent to Menz 2400
WG FG kinda equivalent to Menz 3500

An 8oz bottle of each WG should be fine.

Can try TSR with white pad first to see if that'll get ya where ya need to be.

I'd skip HD Speed but that's just me.

I was thinking of Clay, because, while the car is new, it was sitting on the lot for almost 9 months. But I will do the baggie test.

What kind of pictures should I be looking to take?

Why skip the HD Speed, vs the TSR?
