Hello,

I used this for the first time last night. The wax is very thin, almost like water. Is this normal? I shook it to mix it up. I also can’t clean my pads. Is this normal or should the wax be much thicker?

Thanks,

Lou

It is a fairly thin product, so yes that's normal. When working with heavily oxidized gel-coat, (which is what it's for), the extra liquid help as dry oxidized gel-coat absorbs the liquid out of products.

As for cleaning your pads, anytime you have a HARD or DIFFICULT time cleaning a wax out of your pads that's a good sign. Waxes and sealants by their very nature are NOT or should NOT be water soluble. If they were water soluble then they would wash right off your boat the first time on the water. Or in the case of a car, they would wash right off your car.

A real common topic in the car detailing world is

How do I clean my wax pad?

When I reply, I tell people to do a Google search using these terms,

Water soluble wax mike Phillips

And you'll usually find a thread like this one where I type out the above and explain the whole water soluble thingy.

Hope that helps...
