How much would you guys charge for a one step and wax and undercarriage clean and dressing and tires as well? What about for a full 3 step full correction detail?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180503/4dda436f601974e233cf375fcfc26310.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180503/42351238da151acd9730b9700e782f9b.jpg

single stage polish with a wax, would also include the tire dressing. Then to add on the undercarriage cleaning, just in product cost alone this is a big, BIG job. Add to that it's black, I wouldn't even touch it for less than $400 based upon 8-10 hours of work.

Full on correction with a 3 step I'd be well into the 4 figures. At least 1200-1500 budgeting around 30 hours all in.

The person says he needs the truck done well for a truck show but has a budget of $200. I am really confused as for $200, i would just quickly do a light pass with a AIO and do the dressing and cleaning undercarriage too. Pretty sure you guys wouldnt even do that for $200?

No way I'd touch that for less than the $400 you were already thinking about.

I think you're severely underestimating the # of hours.

What's your time worth? No shame in walking away or not giving services away. It's a business decision.

For 200 that would get a wash, clay, and spray wax with undercarriage degreasing and tire dressing. I target 40-50 an hour so 200 means I need to be in and out in 4-5 hours max.

To AIO that vehicle by machine would require at least work platforms if not ladders. I’d figure at least an hour and a half, maybe two to do a full wash, clay with auto scrub in that process. Half hour to thoroughly clean the undercarriage, hour to dry and spray wax/seal, and 20-30min to wipe down the wheels and dress the tires. That’d be absolutely flying and adds up to 3.5hr with no delays.

Honestly, those jobs suck and are even more grunt work than normal. That’s why I price them high enough that if the owner bites, I’m compensated more than fairly for the abuse I’m about to put my body through in getting it done.

Nope, everyone always wants something for nothing. If you do it cheap he will turn around and spend your extra $200 on rounds at the bar or something else that is stupid.

Sounds like he isn’t serious about a car show. Bet a low cost production shop would charge more than 200 bucks to buffer trail that thing.

Everyone's packages are a bit different but a Solid AIO or polish and seal, including all that you mentioned targeting say 75%+ correcton $695. That's about all I'd really suggest on something like that too. Now if the owner is careful and looking to treat it well going forward and isn't using it a real truck, etc. then I can see doing more of a full correction, but would suggest going upwards of say 90% or better, ten say $795+ If they really want a FULL correction, I'd likely be in the $1,100 range. That's just me.

For $200, maybe a pressure wash and (maybe) a clay towel and some Hydro2 or ECH20. If you're feeling nice, dilute Opti Tire dressing and spray that
on the tires. But honestly, I'd just walk away from this. It's no-win for you.

There is an infinite supply of people who want you to work for free.

There's really nothing I have to offer for $200 on that truck. IMO the owner would likely complain and not pay so overall, no thanks. Never be afraid to walk. I'm firm and true on my time being worth $50-75/hr and I won't take jobs that aren't in that range.

it's always handy to have a picture of your kids (or someone else's kids ;) ) on your clipboard while discussing w/ a customer.

When they complain about price, show them who you're trying to feed and cloth ;)
