Pollen and rust

Hi Mike. On an episode of Competiton Ready I believe you said something about using water to remove pollen could lead to rust in areas where the pollen isn't fully rinsed away and settles. Did I hear you correctly? If so, how should I be removing pollen from my car's paint. Thanks in advance.

•I find it to be a “best practice” to
use a solution—consisting of a car
wash shampoo and water—whenever
I’m trying to safely remove as much
pollen (and its underlying evilness)
as I possibly can.

IMO:
•Water, alone, doesn’t cut the mustard.
