I had been looking forward to this job for a couple months now. The owner of this 2017 black 392 Challenger TA wanted a full lineup of coatings and correction work to really make this already nice car even better. With only 5k miles on the clock it was in nice shape but not to my standards for a new black car.

Wash/Decon

2bm with Hyper wash, Nanoskin handy towel.

Wheels/Tires/wheel wells

Wheels removed and cleaned with IGL iron/ Mckees foaming wheel cleaner gel. Then sprayed with IGL wheel using my 4oz hvlp gun. The tires had some serious new rubber browning that I honestly struggled to remove but did my best. Then applied a couple layers Mckees gloss tire gel. The plastic wheel liners were cleaned with LATA/steam then coated with IGL Quartz.

Correction

After masking off the factory vinyl decals running most of the length of the car I decided to use my Rupes 12mm Duetto. Mainly because this paint was in pretty decent shape. To get the best results I still went with a good 2 step process. I could of probably got away with a single step but he had already been told that most likely a 2 step is going to be the best bet.

Duetto 12mm, IGL microfiber cutting pad, Griots Fast Correcting cream.
Duetto 12mm, Rupes white pad, Hyper Polish
Rupes Ibrid was also used along with my Adams swirl killer mini.

This car has factory Matte black paint on the hood, roof, trunk and spoiler. I always suggest coating matte surfaces as it helps richen and protect the surface really well!

Good job on the detail, but that's way too much black. Black paint, black stickers, black wheels.
