Any ideas what could have caused this? It looks like something spilled on the paint and ate away at the clear coat. The reason I say this is there is no damage to the roof that I would expect from sun damage and it went from no visible issues to this all of a sudden (all localized in one spot). Any tips on what to do now short of a respray (wont be respraying anytime soon).

Bird droppings, only nose of vehicle parked under a sapping tree? Regardless it’s CC failure... off to the body shop.

Could be the thickness of the clear coat in that area as well.
I moved a couple of miles from a lime production plant, I two years all the clear coat on three cars over the fiberglass/ plastic parts failed. The rest of the cars looked fine. Chemistry is odd at times.
