My wife and I were just about 2 miles north of this storm on I-65 last night coming back from Florida...I wasn’t about to pull over anywhere. Luckily we missed it and it bypasses our house near Huntsville (Hampton Cove).

Wow, when hail starts breaking windows it’s big. Poor Camaros.

In some areas we had tennis ball sized hail here in good ole’ north Alabama territory. Which is why my 3 car garage stays clean enough to keep my cars under a roof lol...my neighbors on the other hand owe some deductible’s.

A friend in Cullman AL sent some pictures. Not only were cars destroyed but buildings were damaged also. I used to work in Cullman and lived in Hartselle.......I loved it there but glad I missed this event.

So what happens to all these cars that are need in for repairs?I work as an engineer for Toyota, and given my experience, there's a good chance that a lot of them will just be totalled under insurance and replaced. The cost of repairing severe hail damage, especially when you're dealing with 2-3" blown hail like we had here in Alabama, likely outweighs the cost of replacing every single body panel/window and repairing any interior water damage.

TLDR: Probably crushed...now stop, Hammer Time.
