I'm just curious how does one tell if they get the 'new' formula of 303 Spray Wax?

I'm shocked that a store would still have the old quick wax , and not the new spray wax it was updated too. The new yellow, new formula has been out for a year or so.

Not exactly the same situation but this is why I never buy Meguiars Wash Mitts from just any old online source. Some places/sellers advertise Megs Wash Mitt but you can wind up receiving this:

You don’t want to wind up with that cheap excuse for a Megs Mitt because it’s far inferior to the real deal. I’ve seen those mitts for sale at the $1 dollar store and picked up a couple and there’s a big difference between those and the real ones. That’s just another reason why it’s better to just buy from Autogeek.net

That’s one thing I’m glad I don’t have
to bother with: I actually prefer 303’s
Marine version for automotive applications.
