3M Tire restorer.
Duragloss tire and rubber mat dressing.

Anyone have experience with either one? The DG gets good reviews.

How similar is the Duragloss to Meg's Hyper dressing?

dg253 may not be as cost effective (or dilutable) as hyper dressing, but i find it to be a better product (IME lasts and keeps it's look longer). if i'm not using that then i'll use PERL (alternate). if i want something with more shine and longer lasting then i use GG black shine tire spray. not really a fan of hyper dressing and if i were to use it, it would be in the wheel wells and/or engine bay...

Also consider 303 Tire Balm, GTechniq T1 or OptiBond. Of the 2 you do mention, I'd probably go w/ the DG first.

I have used DG253 with good results. Nice even finish that's not to overly shiny. If you were a fan of Zaino Z16 tire dressing this is almost identical.

Another fan of Duragloss 253.

For the price, I found it to be a great product that goes a long way. I only maintain my personal vehicles and a bottle has lasted years.

Typically I'll only apply one or two coat depending on the tire and how long it's been between applications. It provides a nice, dark, like/new finish. Even in the worst weather conditions I've found it to last around two or three weeks. Again, brands/types of tires make it hard to nail down consistent results. I can only talk in generalities.

I dunno, I find 253 to be a pretty shiny dressing.

How many coats did you apply? If I stop at 1~2 coats and do not apply it too heavy, it will dry to a fairly natural finish. Two coats will be a more satin-ish than natural rubber, but I wouldn't call them shiny. At least in my experience, but I might be applying it thinner than most people.

It sounds like we are not even using the same product. I find it to be very shiny with one coat.

I really like Z16, so I'm going to have to give the 253 a try.

I know the old Z16 was white and had a lemon smell (just like 253), but I understand the newer version is thicker and has a bluish tint to it.

Yes, but it doesn't sound like they are that different or I have an older batch. It's still kinda like a milk consistency.

I got my Z16 in 2005 and used it up a couple years ago (too many dressings, too little time!). I couldn't tell the difference between it and 253, very thin, white, lemon smell.

I understand the version of Z16 that came out maybe 2010-2011 was thicker and bluish, don't know about the smell, I have never used that version.
