When you encounter someone's poor attempt at touching up a chip with paint without clear coat what do you do when polishing? Just carry on regardless?

I didn't notice there was a blob of paint till I saw the colour on my polishing pad then panicked.

What would you do? Quickly change pad and try wash it out or does this really matter?

Thanks

It couldn't be too bad of a job touching up that chip since you didn't notice it until you saw it on your pad. Take a picture of the touch up and continue on.

I guess there's no need to rush and clean pad or ?

The sooner you clean the pad the less of a stain you will see.
