Hi. If by polymer you mean synthetic kinds of things and wax being say more "natural" the polymer will bear it usually in terms of longevity. There are blends that try to give the best of both worlds in terms of the wax look and polymer longevity. I'm a hobbyist so I'm sure some real pros will also chime in.

I have used traditional carnauba waxes and they generally last 1 or 2 months. This past October I decided to try Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant and the results have been great. 4 months later and the water still beads up on the surface.

(It’s basically a “paste” Sealant)
