I searched the forums but couldn't find any comments on Collinite 325 which is a cleaner wax.

https://www.autogeek.net/collinite-sapphire-wax-ss126.html

Spring is around the corner and I'm going to hit my Prius with decon and 360 followed with 476s.

Is Collinite 325 an AIO or is a cleaner wax something different? In any event I plan to layer 476s on top of whatever AIO/cleanerwax I use.

Is Collinite 325 an AIO or is a
cleaner wax something different?

https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/2009-to-2016-how-to-articles-by-mike-phillips/23263-difference-between-cleaner-wax-finishing-wax.html

From the above Mike Phillips article:

”Cleaner/Waxes are also referred to as
One-Step products or All-In-One products.”

In any event I plan to layer 476s on top
of whatever AIO/cleanerwax I use.

and 360 followed with 476s.

As is recommended:
I wouldn’t use Collinite #325 on a vehicle
with (CC)paint that’s in newer/decent shape.

{Similarly:
Any other precautions that were formerly
associated with Collinite #325’s precursor:
Liquid Sapphire Auto Wax #126...may also
be applicable—I suggest: “Risk Assessment”}

Collinite’s new #325 is a reformulation geared more toward modern clear coats.

This is not new paint but it is in very good shape. It has been waxed weekly with OCW but it is not clean. It will be dirty from a winter of NorCal rain, road grime and contamination.

From AGO's description: "*Note: Collinite Auto Cleaner Wax is clear coat safe, but is not meant for brand new paint or paint finishes that are already in pristine condition."

I would not characterize my paint as pristine from a detailer's perspective. From a layman's perspective it is pristine and shines like showroom but we know that just means it looks nice to the untrained eye. I was going to hit it with 360 but I saw 325 in a popup add and didn't know what it is and I couldn't find any useful comments here, either.

It is not on the autopia chart here, too: http://site.autopia-carcare.com/newsletters/2017/Polishchart/AutopiaPol800.jpg

-Will the paint(CC) become more pristine
after it’s been washed/decontaminated?

-Less pristine?

Wash and decon will clean it up. The goal is to remove the road film accumulated all winter. It is my daily driver and parked outside 365 days of the year. The weather is mild here but the road film builds up whenever the roads are wet.

Last spring I taped off the hood and I could clearly see the difference after hitting it with 360. This spring I'm contemplating 325 to be topped with 476s.

This article should be required reading for everyone who lives in California because we probably have more highway miles per mile of paved road of any state in the country. When it rains the salad dressing sprays all over the paint, it is unavoidable.

I really don't understand this product...it's a reformulation of Sapphire geared MORE toward modern clear coats...but apparently not ALL THE WAY to modern clear coats.

I have it, works fine on all clear coats new and old.

Have you any opinions how it compares to AIOs like 360, Speed, D166, etc.?

I'm going to try it this weekend. I just received a bottle and I notice that it is more runny than 846.

Never tried 360,166 etc but do have Speed. 325 is a non abrasive cleaner wax whereas the others you mentioned have cut. Think of 325 as Meguiars Cleaner Wax or AutoGlym Super Resin Polish.

Collinite clearly states that it contains micro abrasives and is safe on clear or single stage paint.

Go and try and do some correction with it and let me know after if it’s abrasives or cleaners.
