Frozen Pads

I buffed out an Audi RS5 yesterday. I used 6 orange LC Force Hybrid Pads and 3 white ones. Pinnacle compound and polish. Job went great and I cleaned up my Pads after in my garage work sink. Then I forgot them there. I work an overnight shift so can’t get to them for a while now. I wringed them out best I could but I’m wondering if I just ruined them? Will they be ruined if they froze? As in the water expands and wrecks the integrity of the pad? Anyone have any experience with this? It’s currently 23 degrees out. I only mentioned what kind of car because I was going to post some pics but they won’t upload for me right now.....

Never though about it. My pads always dry out in the garage, but I also spin them on a rotary before being laid out to air dry. If you wrung them out the best you could then I think they would be okay. If they were sopping wet and then froze then maybe it could be an issue with the expansion from water to ice. Were the pads frozen solid or frozen stiff?

You'll just have to assume they are okay until you use them again. If they compress easily, go concave, heat up quickly, Velcro starts delaminating or seem to be absorbing polish more than they should that could an indicator that something did happen to them.

I didn’t panic enough to wake the wife in the middle of the night but when she woke up I asked her to go get them out of the garage. She said they weren’t frozen and when I finally got home I saw that they do look ok. A little damp though so we’ll see. Those are all good things to watch out for thanks.
