Check out my article on McKee's 37 Wheel Glaze (https://www.autogeek.net/dp-wheel-glaze.html)

I've used McKees spray wheel sealant and love it. That being said, I've also used PoorBoys Wheel Sealant and had excellent results

Optimum Opti-Seal is my favorite. Apply and walk away.

I would go with McKee's Hydro Blue, it doesn't get much easier. Personally I use a wheel coating and maintain with Hydro Blue or similar.

I would apply a ceramic coating to your brand new wheels for long term protection. Pinnacle Black Label, McKee's 37, Gyeon, CarPro, Dr. Beasley's and GTechniq offer some great wheel coatings.

Optimum Opti-Seal...
^^^ :iagree:

-Finish Kare 1000P is another.

{As you can probably gather:
rather than use Waxes on rims,
I prefer to use Sealants.}

I have Pinnacle BL paint coating on my 3 season wheels, applied 3 coats over last winter before I installed them this past spring and cleaning was always easy, just my maintainence wheels cleaner or left over soap and my speed master, that's it. Paint coatings make great for great wheel protection!

I would also like to add Sonax wheel shield is also OUTSTANDING!!

Do yourself a favor and use a coating. GTechniq C5 (https://www.autogeek.net/gtechniq-c5-wheel-armor.html) is my favorite - one of the best things I've done besides coating the paint!

A just-in-time thread for me as I'm looking to do something with my clear coated wheels in addition to properly cleaning them. But, man, these coatings are absurdly expensive....except, I saw this kit - https://www.autogeek.net/dp-coating-kit.html.

$100 bucks to coat paint, glass, and wheels...I'm in, I think. I wonder how many uses I'll get out of the coatings in that kit? Is a single small bottle sufficient for one car, two cars?

4 oz of coating is actually a lot of coating. It usually takes about 15 ml to coat a car.
