Hello Autogeek family,
I got into detailing less then a year ago, and have brought new life to my older family vehicles. I'm very surprised what can be done to an older vehicle that still has its clear coat and no serious defects beyond paint (my cars for example).
I've been working on paint correction since I started, it's fascinating, and have been using the cars of family and friends as my learning vehicles. I do them for free (of course) since I'm learning, and doing my best to avoid mistakes. In that dept. I'm lucky in that I don't anticipate any a lack of cars to practice on (father, daughters, friends, work colleagues, my own vehicles for me and the wife, etc.).
Yesterday I did some headlights on my best friend's vehicle, and last weekend I started on my daughter's Ranger, which is an 89 if you can believe it, and had not been washed or protected in any way in quite a long time (years).
I've been lurking on this excellent forum for a while now, reading anything and everything, particularly from Mr. Phillips. His knowledge and experience is phenomenal.
I've also dropped some coin on this excellent Retailer, wow, what a selection.
Anyway I have lots of mysteries in my head regarding this science and art, some of which I have not been able to find on the internet.
David
