I just started working on a 2002 Toyota Corolla CE with the single stage Super White paint code. Only had time to do half the roof before it got cold and dark (I know it's only 60 degrees but it is LA). From the reflection that I could see just before the sun when down there are still a few swirls present. I am using a maroon Meguiars pad on a PC set at 6.
I had been planning on going over the car twice with IP, once with the "cutting pad" and again with a lighter weight polishing pad. Then hitting the car one more time with Nano. This Toyota has never been polished and I doubt if it has been waxed more that twice in it's life.
Before starting any polishing the car was washed and clayed with clay magic medium red clay. The paint looked surprisingly good even before any polishing.

Any suggestions? I have never worked on a car with single stage, no clearcoat paint before.

sounds like a good plan. I'd clay the paint prior to polishing though.
