Hey guys I'm new here and I was planning on applying a coat of NXT tech wax to my car soon. But I saw on a car forum that using a rotary (dewalt in my case) is not recommended for applying wax. Is this true? then why do people sell pads that are used to apply wax for rotaries if its not safe?

Thanks in advance for the help.

btw, I will be using the edge200 white pads...they were advetised to be for appplying sealants and waxes.

The rotary will generate to much heat aka friction to apply a wax correctly. It can be done but most of us here would do by hand or DA/PC.

It's not a safety issue until the wax breaks down to quick from the heat and then you have a dry pad on the surface.

Thanks justin, I'll keep that in mind. I'm going to have to figure out something to do with my new wax application pad.
