Hi
Wrote this is another thread but thought it needed a thread on its own. So I discover after washing my car a few weeks ago that I had a chip. I knew about the touch up the dealership did a few months ago and it was fine. Guess not since it fell off due to washing. So I would like to fix this myself. I did happen to buy BMW OEM touch up paint. But from what I read here is it better to go with Dr Colorchip? Any help would be appreciated. Thnx

Dr. ColorChip is awesome. It's supper easy to work with and has excellent results. I would go with the Road Rash Complete Paint Chip Repair kit.

I've done quite a few with both BMW OEM touch ups and Dr. CC. Both work well but I will say the BMW paint is a little more work.

I resort to the more laborious way of applying thin and several layers of BMW paint. Then carefully wetsand them down and buff out to match the surrounding paint.

Dr. CC is dab and wipe with Sealact. Done!

Thanks paul. I might also need to do some polishing to remove some of the light scuffs surrounding the paint chip. Once I am finished with the paint correction I will fix chip with dr colorchip. Not going to aggressive since using my highline 2 ptg i got a readings of 3.9mils. Think that is getting into thin territory.
